It’s clerkship season in Australia. As somebody that went through that process, I know it’s not fun. So I made a clerkship application tracker to make it a bit easier for all the penultimate year law students.
Here’s how you can use it:
1) Create a duplicate of the clerkship tracker below in Notion (it’s free to use)
2) There’s a database of 30 law firms across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide and Hobart that are offering clerkship programs. You can sort or filter them by office locations and application closing dates.
3) For any programs that you’re interested in applying to, you can tick the ‘I’ll apply’ checkbox.
3) The ticked ones will pop into the “My clerkship tracker” section like this:

6) I’ll update progressively as more application dates open (currently it’s mostly just Sydney and Canberra), although the key update dates are:
- Sydney and Canberra – open now;
- Perth – opens 27 June 2022;
- Melbourne and Adelaide – opens 4 July 2022; and
- Brisbane – opens 18 July 2022.
